SDR, Trades Software (Base + Uncapped Commission)

Posted 11 hours ago

Jobtable was founded by a team of industry experts from both the construction and software fields, driven by a common goal: to simplify business operations for contractors. Two of our co-founders run a highly successful plumbing company, which grew from just two people and a truck to over 30 employees, managing large-scale commercial and industrial projects. As their business expanded, they struggled to find software that was user-friendly, efficient, and affordable. The options available were either too complex or too costly.

In response, the team developed a custom solution for their own company, and it was such a game-changer that they decided to package it for other contractors. Today, Jobtable helps businesses across North America streamline their operations and grow, providing a simple, effective tool for contractors everywhere.

Remote (Eastern Time Zone hours), Full-time

Jobtable builds software for contractors and trades businesses: plumbing, electrical, HVAC, roofing, general contractors. We're working toward being the standard software for more than 100,000 contractors across North America. Small team, fully remote, bootstrapped.

This is a cold-calling role. You'll work leads we've already built through targeted lead generation, pre-qualified, not cold lists pulled from nowhere. The job, day one: book demos with the right contractors, the ones who actually convert into paying customers. That means qualifying calls properly instead of chasing volume for its own sake. Base salary plus uncapped commission on closed deals, so your incentive lines up with quality from the start.

What you need to be good at this

You have to be a strong cold caller already. That's non-negotiable. You know how to read a contractor fast and adjust your energy to match theirs. You can handle an objection you've never heard before without freezing up. Trades guys will push back hard, talk over you, or hang up mid-sentence. Thin skin doesn't survive this job.

You have to know how contractors actually work. You don't need hands-on trade experience, but you need real familiarity with the terminology and the daily grind, and a sense of what a plumber's or an electrician's business actually looks like day to day. Talk to these people like an outsider reading a script and they'll clock it immediately.

You have to run a process without babysitting. That means a real follow-up cadence and clean CRM habits, tracked consistently without someone reminding you. You also need fluent spoken and written English, availability during Eastern Time Zone hours, a quiet space to work, reliable high-speed internet, and your own computer and headset.

One hard requirement

You need to actually use AI in how you work, daily, not as a talking point. A sales coach agent you built yourself, an AI tool for call prep or objection practice, something real and in use. If you don't have this already, that's a real gap for this role.

Where this goes

This starts as outbound and pipeline management, but it's built to grow. As you build real product knowledge (how Jobtable works, the technical side of the software, what problems it actually solves for contractors), you move into running demos yourself, then closing. Product knowledge is what separates a decent SDR from someone we build a real career here for. It's learnable. Wanting to learn it isn't optional.

Prior experience selling software or hands-on trade experience helps, but neither is required.

Base salary plus uncapped commission on closed deals. Paid time off. Fully remote.
