If you've been following this series for a while, you may have seen our spin on Day in the Life Of a Remote Job Seeker with Bricelyn Jones. Well since then, Bricelyn has scored a remote job (hooray!) with Housecall Pro. Keep reading for her new routine.

What led you to remote work?
I was actively seeking a remote position last year but ended up accepting a local position in an office in Denver. The pandemic shifted the company to remote work and I’ve been working remotely ever since. I recently accepted an offer at a new company that will have an entirely remote team which is important to me given I live in the mountains and am an introvert who values a quiet environment.
What does your typical workday look like?
6-6:30 - wakeup and workout (I aim for about 3 morning workouts during the week)
6:45-7:30 - shower and coffee
7:30-8:00 - walk the dog
8:00-8:15 - meditate (love the Calm app for this)
8:15-12 - While this varies depending on the day, aside from team standups, I try to reserve this time for deeper focus and strategic work, catching up on industry news, and reading about product management best practices. I usually make a quick breakfast (smoothie, eggs) sometime between 9-10
12-12:30 - I try to get at least a 30min block around lunchtime every day to walk the dog and eat something away from my computer
1-5 - Usually a mix of meetings and project-specific work. Now that it’s dark early, I walk the dog around 4:45
5:30-6 - Wrap up and log off
6-8 - Dinner and recharge. I’ve been subscribing to Green Chef which forces me to actually cook most evenings with my partner. I try to spend more time playing with the dog, working on a house project or house chores, and sometimes my partner and I will play a board game or watch a show/movie.
8-9 - Get ready for bed, read (I’m reading ‘A Promised Land’ right now)
9:30-10 - Bedtime (I love sleeping 8-9 hours)!
Describe your workspace setup:
We recently bought a house after my partner and I started working from home full time (we were in a tiny cabin that just didn’t quite cut it)! My office is in our guest bedroom. I especially love the views outside my office window.
What do you listen to while you work?
I alternate between Disney, trop house, oldies, the Hamilton soundtrack, and bluegrass Spotify playlists. Sometimes I throw in a little french cafe music. Spotify seems pretty baffled by my choices lately, haha.
Aside from your phone and computer, name a gadget you can’t live without in your workspace:
I bought a kneeling chair which I recommend to help with back/hip pain, and I also keep a space heater close-by since we live at 8500 ft and it gets chilly.
