Rent Butter was founded in 2020 to fix how people apply for apartments. Old fashion credit scores were never intended for landlords. Financial mistakes at 23 shouldn't prevent you from a nice apartment when you're 30. Rent Butter is fixing that!
The team has developed a next generation tenant screening platform that we've grown from a handful of local Chicago landlords to approaching 250,000 apartments nation wide. We are looking for talented engineers to help scale our platform in our next phase of growth and lead development of new product lines.
We launched in the peak of the pandemic and so by design are a fully remote team. We gather in Chicago quarterly (expenses paid) to pow-wow and do about 6-12 trade-shows each year to give everyone a change for some face-time.
As a remote team we like self motivated / self directed team members who work well alone but can collaborate remotely. If we hire you we assume you're smart so please no egos. The founders expect to be learning from you no matter your skill level. We believe in team; utilizing everyone's unique expertise and perspectives.
