NerdPress provides maintenance and support for hundreds of WordPress sites. The majority of our clients are food bloggers, though we also have clients in other niches, including crafting, e-commerce, philanthropy, non-profits, and more.

There are currently eighteen of us on the NerdPress team. We work as a close-knit team on customer support, customer onboarding, coding, and anything else that needs doing.

We're 100% remote, with everyone based in the United States. We communicate with our clients via email (HelpScout) and with each other mostly through Slack and Zoom.

Helping others is at the heart of everything we do. We seek out opportunities to exceed expectations, including anticipating the needs of others. We identify our clients’ needs and then see it through — by resolving an issue outright, or, when that’s not practical, offering guidance and a path to resolution. We communicate clearly and consistently, and do what we say we’re going to do.

We help each other so we can be a more effective team, and we give back by helping the community.

The only thing better than solving problems is preventing problems in the first place! So we’re forward-thinking, always working diligently to stay ahead of the game, and taking proactive action whenever possible.

We believe in being a partner with our clients, and we treat their sites with the same care that we do our own. We use good judgment, pay attention to detail, and take responsibility. We practice empathy and kindness. We have a good sense of humor — and like to have fun!

We also take good care of ourselves and each other. If we aren’t at the top of our game physically, emotionally, and mentally, we won’t be performing at our best.

This also means supporting our communities and giving back. We believe that open-mindedness, inclusion, and diversity are absolutely critical; having a wide range of viewpoints, experiences, and perspectives contributes to our strength, ability, and success.

Providing amazing support is more than just completing the immediate task at hand. Every interaction is an opportunity to learn and grow, and to be able to apply that experience the next time around. We explain what we did and how we did it (in accessible, non-techy language), helping our clients gain a greater understanding of their sites. We also take the time to teach and empower each other, so we keep getting better — individually, and as a team.

We recognize that we’re not always going to get things right, and for those times when we don’t, it’s an opportunity to improve. So we’re not afraid to practice honesty and transparency, and to ask for help when we need it.

We’re fueled by curiosity. Indeed, one of the reasons we love what we do is that we’re always learning. As technology and the internet evolve, we will too. We thrive on this continual growth, and are always seeking to get better.

Our process starts with an email application (see the details on our job listings).  If we think you might be a good fit, we'll then send you an online questionnaire and/or a skills assessment. 

It'll all be custom created by us, no boilerplate stuff stuff! And no "AI Scoring" or other nonsense. We're real people and we'll read your answers knowing there's a human on the other side of the screen.

After that, we'll do some Zoom meetings -- so we can get to know you better, and so you can get to know us better.

If all systems are go, we'll send you a formal offer (and proceed with a background check). Once that's all set, we're good to go!
