The Role

We are looking for a Business Analyst who will bring the necessary skills to help answer Remote Year’s biggest business questions using well thought out and data driven insights. You will be an expert in managing and analyzing large sets of data, maintaining data integrity and being a thought partner in a quickly changing environment. You will be the master of digging into various data sources and finding the “why” behind the data. You are a self-starter and an excellent collaborator.


  • Derive actionable insights from data sets (primarily Salesforce data)
  • Use data to answer key questions about the business
  • Deliver takeaways from data with statistical significance
  • Perform regular analysis of sales and marketing related activities
  • Identify and present plans for capturing missing data points / sources to help drive further insights
  • Own and maintain all dashboards, ongoing reporting reports, and ad hoc requests from the organization


  • 2-3 years’ experience in consulting, analytics, finance, or a related function (startup experience a plus)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to research data issues, perform calculation validation and provide recommendations to correct inconsistencies
  • Required proficiency in Excel
  • Required proficiency in SQL & SOQL
  • Experience with Salesforce reporting dashboards strongly preferred
  • Experience tackling Sales and Marketing improvement strongly preferred

  • Inspiring- you know how to rally your project team around a singular mission, you aren’t afraid to delegate responsibility and you are self aware and therefore know when to slow down
  • Entrepreneurial- you are a self starter, problem solver and hopelessly devoted to the Remote Year mission
  • Adaptable- the role requires you to be able to be comfortable within constant change, wear many hats, work with team members in many locales
