Modern Tribe is searching for a Contract Specialist to be a champion for the Sales, Ops and Finance teams. This role helps to navigate and drive forward our customer procurement process. In this role, the contract specialist will analyze and interpret a wide range of customer contracts. You should have an in-depth understanding of the procurement process, contract agreements and legalese. Specific tasks this will include:
Develop and facilitate a strong relationship between the client and Modern Tribe
Navigating customer procurement processes
Contract review and terms negotiations
Validating and obtaining required Insurance coverage documentation
Submitting required vendor validation paperwork
Navigating the initial payment process with new customers
Ensuring Contracts and SOWs are signed and stored correctly
Conducting annual reviews of MSA and Contract templates
Reviewing proposal addendums
Supporting project change orders as needed
Supporting the Finance team in procurement-based collections issues
Resolving contract discrepancies
Other admin tasks that support the Sales team, such as printing and mailing proposals
Strong communication and/or experience working as part of a remote team
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, strong organizational skills, with a methodical approach to all tasks
Ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines
Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
Fluent English speaker
Required Knowledge & Experience
A minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a similar role providing support to Sales teams, reviewing and negotiating vendor contracts
Impeccable attention to detail
Superior written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks, work towards multiple goals, problem-solve and prioritize tasks
In-depth knowledge of procurement regulations, contract documents, and legal specifications
Eye for detail to detect errors and inconsistencies in contract language
Outstanding negotiation and interpersonal skills
Ability to resolve client complaints and concerns
Familiar with US contracts and contract law
Proven track record of follow through when meeting deadlines and setting expectations accurately (a graceful ability to reset expectations when appropriate)

Work from anywhere in the US or Canada; if you are in Central or South America, let’s talk. This will be a 100% remote position. If your working hours are in a timezone outside of the US range, but you work 4+ hours of overlap each day our team might be able to consider your application.
This is a contract role. The rate range is $30-$50/ hour commensurate with qualifications and experience. We are currently looking for freelance contractors about 5-15 hours per week. (though note, this role can ebb and flow quite a bit!)
