Director of Business Management will lead operations, finance and technology for a fast-growing company. This person will report to the President, be a part of the Executive leadership team, and manage the Bookkeeper and Systems Manager. Annual salary is $80,000. 

While this is a primarily remote position, you must live within the Washington D.C. metropolitan area to travel to company headquarters in Silver Spring, MD up to 2 times per week. Commuting expenses will not be reimbursed.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to:
· Forecast business needs and adjust business operations to respond to needs
· Take an “outside-the-box” approach to problem-solving
· Communicate business performance, stats and priorities to the President and provide 
  analysis and plausible solutions

You will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field and also be expected to travel to in-person team meetings approximately 2-4 times per year.

Responsibilities
  • Financial operations, including accounts receivables, accounts payable, budget, financial reporting and analysis, and payroll processing in multiple states
  • Business operations, including contracts and vendor paperwork, project compliance, insurances, SIMPLE IRA and business registrations
  • Information technology and business systems, including Salesforce, email client management, web-hosting and domain registrations, project management software, and other office systems
  • Pricing analysis and financial forecasting, including implementing processes and systems to achieve profit targets as well as support sales strategies

You Have
  • 7-10 years of accounting or finance experience ideally in a small business environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
  • Proven experience managing junior team members
  • Expertise in QuickBooks and Excel
  • Proficiency in Salesforce and ability to quickly learn other business software as needed
  • Excellent organizational skills; this role involves a lot of moving pieces
  • Knowledge that the devil is in the details—no i goes undotted, no t goes uncrossed
  • Excellent communication skills, this role involves communication with clients and internal team members
  • A scrappy, can-do attitude with a willingness to try new ways of thinking and working
  • Proven ability to manage confidential information
  • Ability to work from 9-5, Monday through Friday
  • Ability to travel to onsite meetings at least twice a week in Silver Spring, MD
  • Proven ability to successfully work from home
