EMEX, a rapidly growing online energy broker, helps customers procure the best electricity and natural gas rates. We're building a revolutionary platform that is changing the way energy is bought and sold in the US. Our unparalleled broker management system powers our internal operations, as well as that of our many partners.
We are looking for a full-time senior software engineer with a focus on Ruby and RoR. Salary range for this position is 100k-120k / year.
Our Team
Our development team works on a variety of systems, all part of our auction platform and broker management system. There is no shortage of challenging problems to tackle, and team members have broad experience across the platform.
We care first and foremost about delivering value in a sustainable way. Quality is incredibly important to us, and we strive for excellence.
Our process revolves around a Kanban board and Github PRs. In a typical day, our developers talk with the business team, write code, review & discuss pull requests with other devs, and deploy to the live site (usually several times a day.) We have evolved a development process that enables us to respond quickly to market opportunities.
Our team is remote-first. Throughout the day, we primarily communicate over Slack and Google Hangouts. At least once a year, we gather as a full team in the Houston office.
