Newswise is a news service based on state of the art technology for delivering news to journalists who request the service. Newswise seeks to foster the best relationship with journalists by providing highly credible content and the way they choose to receive it.
Newswise works with many of the top universities, hospitals and associations in the country in order to ensure that our subscribers have access to the latest research and news. Some of these institutions include Johns Hopkins Medicine, Mayo Clinic, Cornell University, University of Chicago, University of Montreal, Ohio State University, New York University, Washington University in St. Louis, American Chemical Society, American Academy of Neurology, and Salk Institute for Biological Studies.
Newswise distributes news releases to more than 23,000 subscribers via a single daily email. Included are over 8,800 journalists and new media professionals who have requested our news. Some of our subscribing media outlets include Time Magazine, ABC News, Science News, USA Today, CNN, New York Times, Vancouver Sun, Montreal Gazette, Fox News, Washington Post, Reuters, WebMD, BusinessWeek, and U.S. News & World Report.
With Newswise you can distribute research, feature stories, expert pitches, breaking news events, op-eds, video only, information on clinical trials and more. Content may include images, video, and audio.
Becoming a member of Newswise means receiving full support from our team. Each membership includes a Newsroom, Reports Central Dashboard, and permanent placement in multiple locations on our site, as well as distribution through our Wires.
Responsible for planning, development and implementation of all of Newswise marketing strategies, marketing communications, and public relations activities, both external and internal. Oversees development and implementation of support materials and services in the area of marketing, communications and public relations. Work alongside sales team and external members to reach overall company goals.
- Create and moderate all external communication through different online channels to support the development of the commercial and operational activities.
- Drive content and marketing campaign creation for awareness building activities and lead generation via email and events.
- Schedule and organize events with reporters.
- Lead overall PR planning for key influencers and journalists to gain media attention and build consumer awareness in support of overall marketing and brand development goals.
- Manage media partnerships and associated elements of PR
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable making calls to journalists.
Extensive knowledge of design and content generation targeted to various audiences and readers
Education: Bachelors Degree
Work experience: 5+ years of internet marketing and communications experience
