At Sequin, we help developers build integrations. Instead of having to learn the ins-and-outs of a third-party API to access their data, developers use us to sync API data with their database in real-time instead.

No API docs. No querying, sorting, filtering, pagination, or rate limits. Just a database, with schemas that each contain your data from the third-party platforms you use, like Stripe, Zendesk, Airtable, Shopify, Quickbooks, etc.

We launched in December 2020 and are already working with some amazing companies, like Vimeo, Lambda School, Electronic Arts, On Deck, and Apache.

At every step of the way, our company places a high value on mental and physical health. We work hard, but know we need to sleep a full 8, eat well, exercise, and make time for loved ones to maximize our energy and do our best work. We tinker here a lot. We do our best work when we conscientiously pick our most important tasks and block out time to get them done uninterrupted. We work in 2-week cycles and have minimal synchronous process. Read: lots of heads-down time.

🏙 Online-first

We're building our HQ online. All our processes are remote- or online-first.

We do have a physical office, in sunny, beautiful Los Angeles (in the heart of Venice). We'll know sometime in 2023 if we're going to keep it.

✍ Write it down

Putting thoughts in writing means they'll be sharp: clear to you and clear to the reader. This means better feedback on those ideas and better alignment across the team.

We're thoughtful about communication and lots of it happens async (when we’re not pairing.) We do a daily standup at 10AM PT and like team members to be available to pair and collaborate on core PT hours. Otherwise, we lean into email and our ticketing system (Linear) and away from disruptions (Slack).

We operate our company around the same core metrics so we're all playing the same game. Our primary metric is weekly growth in MRR.

Because we're a developer tools company, growing MRR means we're providing more value to more developers. It keeps our growth on track and honest.

This means what you work on will always directly impact our customers and our bottom-line. If you've never worked this way, it's a fun, refreshing, and energizing way to work. You'll also learn a ton about startups and the hunt for product/market fit along the way.

1. 30-minute Introduction: We'll get introduced and spend 30 minutes learning if we're both aligned.
2. 90-minute Interview: We'll step through each chapter of your career and dig into your wins, losses, and growth.
3. Technical Interview: Depending on the role, you'll meet our team and collaborate on solving problems.
4. References: Talking with your former bosses and colleagues is a crucial part of our process. We'll want to talk to at least three references.
